This qualification will typically take 10-12 weeks to complete.
To achieve this qualification the learner will be required to complete 5 mandatory units
The purpose of this qualification is for learners’ who are interested in using counselling skills within their wider working role. It can also support those who wish to progress towards holding an accredited counsellor status. It must be noted that this qualification does not qualify you to practise as a counsellor. However, it can support your progression within employment in several roles across a wide range of sectors, including mental health support worker, education and health and social care.
This qualification aims to provide learners with a more in-depth knowledge of counselling skills applying these to everyday use. Theoretical approaches that underpin the use of these skills as well as developing an understanding of how to work ethically including, diversity in counselling. Learning will also highlight the importance of self-development along with the impact on oneself and others.
To assist in the delivery of this qualification the learner should be able to access a real work environment or be able to access an environment where role play and one to one helping sessions can be carried out.
Evidence produced for the qualification will be internally assessed by your assigned course tutor.
This course can be delivered using a blended learning approach. This will give you flexibility to direct your own online learning. You will be assigned a tutor to provide support and guidance including face to face if desired. As well as having access to resources and collaboration tools to assist your learning.
