This qualification typically takes 12-18 months to complete.
To achieve this qualification the student will be required to complete 23 mandatory units, which include both knowledge and skills evidence. Students will need to be employed or in a voluntary placement.
The purpose of this qualification is to provide students with in-depth knowledge and skills of working with children from birth to 5 years. Students will have further obtained knowledge of working with children aged 5-7 years. On successful completion of this qualification, it is intended that students will be able to enter employment in the Early Years workforce.
The aim of this qualification is to prepare students to become Early Years Educators. Throughout their study the students will supported by a tutor and assessor and will be assessed in a real work environment. Students will be required to demonstrate evidence of working with babies and children aged birth to 5 years. To successfully complete the qualification students will need to demonstrate competence across both knowledge and skills-based outcomes.
