This qualification will typically take 12 months to complete.
To achieve this qualification the learner will be required to complete 14 mandatory units, which include both knowledge and skills evidence. Students will need to be employed or in a voluntary placement.
The purpose of this qualification is to provide students with the knowledge and understanding of babies and young children from birth to seven years. Once completed students will be qualified as a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner and can enter the workforce. Alternatively, the student can continue learning and progress to a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification.
This qualification aims to prepare students to work with children from birth to five years. Throughout their study the students will supported by a tutor and assessor and will be assessed in a real work environment. The students will need to demonstrate competence across both knowledge and skills-based outcomes to complete the qualification successfully. The qualification content meets the Department for Education’s (DfE) Level 2 full and relevant criteria for a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner in the workforce.
