This qualification is designed to help learners build the knowledge and skills needed when working under supervision with children and young people from birth to 19 years of age. It covers a diverse range of job roles and occupational areas working in children’s settings including early years and social care.
It is also a must-have for all those undertaking the Level 2 Children and Young People’s Apprenticeship
Apprenticeship Level 2
- 12-14 months duration (approx)
- Provides new skills and a thorough grounding for both new and existing employees
- Academic equivalent to 4-5 GCSE’s

- Level 2 Certificate for the Children & Young People’s Workforce (QCF)
- Level 2 Award in Employment Responsibilities & Rights in Children & Young Peoples Settings (QCF)
- Level 1 Functional Skills – English, Maths & ICT
- Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)

Funding Criteria
- Work an average of 30 hours per week
- Not in full time education
